A woman was killed at the Variel Apartments in Canoga Park after she was struck by a hit and run driver. The incident occurred earlier this month when, according to the Los Angeles Daily News, there was some type of altercation, followed by the car striking the woman and then driving away from the scene.
The woman who was killed in the Canoga Park hit and run was Guadalupe Garcia, who is a 35 year old mother and wife. Los Angeles police have not yet found or identified the driver of the hit and run vehicle that killed Guadalupe Garcia. The Canoga Park wrongful death incident apparently occurred in an alley way in the apartment complex.
Sometimes an apartment complex like this one may have some surveillance cameras that would cover the alley way, which would help identify the car involved in the crash. If the car does not belong to a tenant in the apartments, police or a personal injury attorney can search DMV records to find out who the owner of the car is. However, the owner is not always necessarily the driver, but the owner may know who the driver was at the time of the incident.
It is very important for the family of any California wrongful death victim to call an experienced wrongful death lawyer right away, to make sure the investigation is handled properly and to try to recover the maximum amount of wrongful death damages for the loss of their loved one.
We wish the family of Guadalupe Garcia our sincerest condolences and we hope that through a thorough investigation the driver of the hit and run vehicle can be located and brought to justice. If anyone has any information on the vehicle or driver that caused this wrongful death, they should call the LAPD at 818-374-9550.
