A Tesla sedan collided with a Laguna Beach police car parked on Laguna Canyon road. Luckily, no one was injured in the accident. The Laguna Beach Patch reported that the car accident occurred when the Tesla on autopilot suddenly veered out of its lane and into the police car.

According to The Patch, this is not the first Tesla accident in that area. Last year, at the same location, anther autopilot Tesla crashed, “with almost identical circumstances…the difference was that the male driver ran into a semi-truck.” It is still not clear what caused the car to swerve in the present case, but certainly interesting that it occurred in the same spot as a previous crash.  Continue Reading

According to ABC 7 News, locals have come to dub Inland Empire’s Ramona Expressway, “Blood Alley.” Driving along the expressway over 40 roadside memorials can be seen, tributes to those killed in car accidents along the corridor. Last week alone, there were three deadly head-on collisions. The Ramona Expressway is a central thoroughfare for people commuting back and forth to work, causing heavy traffic.

The expressway is dangerous because of heavy traffic, especially where the roadway narrows to just two lanes, one in each direction. Residents state that “You’ve got people passing you on the shoulder, people passing head-on on the one-lane bridge,” adding to the danger in this area. Continue Reading
